Connectors - User Guide
For each connector there are two elements: the fictive connector and the real one.
The fictive connector will be used in the connection manager. It will be replaced by UCS by the real connector when creating the cabinet.
1.1. The Fictive Connector
- We create an empty connector in the Material Catalog
- Inside this connector there is a parameter used as an ID in the UCS and allow it to be linked to the Real connector.
- We use this fictive connector in a connection (or a connection set)
- We use this connection in the assemble manager
1.2. The Real Connector
The fictive connector will be replaced by the real one by the UCS during the cabinet construction.
Specific parameters must be added to these connectors:
- Determines the first and last position of the connector
- Determine the small part value to change the position of the connectors under this value
- Same as n°1, but used when the part is smaller than the value set in n°2
- Used to determine at which value an additional assembler is triggered
- TrouClamex is required for the miter Clamex. The boring is applied by UCS to bypass the model boring limitation
- TrouClamex_Dia and TrouClamex_Decal to set the boring diameter and position. The depth is determined by calculation up to the connector axis
- TrouEscParall is necessary for the angled Minifix, particularly when there are on miter and that the boring is not square to the miter. Three operating modes 1=Master,2=Slave or 3=Both. The boring is applied by UCS to bypass the model boring limitation
- TrouEscParall_Dia and TrouEscParall_Prof to set boring diameter and depth. The position will be at the panel axis, or at the value set for the parameter HDW_POS_Z
- If this parameter is ON, the connector will not be at the panel axis. Value to use in the model but also useful for the UCS in case of used on a miter edge
- Authorize or not the connector to be applied on a miter. Some hardware can't be used on miter edge (Example for the Cabinéo)
- HDW_Fixed_Flip so that we cannot activate the turn option. Especially useful for Divario hardware
- If the panel thickness is under the HDW_MinDZ value, the connector will not be applied. Above the HDW_MaxDz value the connector determined for the thickness n°2 in the UCS will be applied. Especially useful for the minifix and dowel, this prevents the user from thinking about making the change.
2.1. Room Level
At the room level you have an attribute who allow you to turn ON or OFF all the connectors of the room.
The Auto ON mode will set all the cabinet of the room at ON. To be used before the launch in manufacturing to not forget a cabinet on which the assemblers have been deactivated (OFF).
2.2. Cabinet Level
By clicking on a cabinet, we can choose to make connector overrides
- Allows you to enable or disable the connectors on the cabinet (if Auto ON is enabled in the room, this attribute will remain locked at ON)
- Allows you to activate and display the connector overrides (red rectangle)
- Option which allows to say on which horizontal and / or vertical part the connectors are shifted so that they do not end up facing to each other.
Exemple: On this cabinet i want to change the Cabinéo 12 by the Clamex P-10
2.3. Part Level
It is possible to create assembler overrides at the part level:
- Click on the part where you want to make a modification
- Switch Q-Customize to True
-Q- Nbr of joints: indicates the number of joints you want to apply to this part
For each joint you will have these attributes:
=== Joint XX === : allows to deactivate / activate the joint. The details option allows you to display the other attributes to make adjustments. Once the changes are made, you can set the attribute back to ON to reduce the list of attributes and visually lighten it.
Choice of connectors : Type of connector do you want to apply to this joint
Edge # : Allows you to choose on which edge of the part the joint will be applied. It is of course possible to put several joints on the same edge.
Adjust pos. X : Allows to move the connector number X on the joint (positive or negative)
Flip : Allows to turn the connectors so that the machining done on one face is found on the other side.
Mirror : Mirror the joint
Position Z : Adjustment of the Z position of the joint. Useful in certain cases where the parts are not in contact
Quantity : Force a quantity of connector on the joint
There are two settings on this package:
When you click on a cabinet, the attributes will be in the language of your choice: English or French.
If you wish to change this option:
- Go the User Created Standards list
- Click on the UCS called CNX0_Attributs de meuble
- In the public variables, select the Language you wish
3.2. The Connectors That Will Be Applied According To The Connection Choice
- Indicates the number of connections to manage
- Indicates the standard number. This have to be related to the fictive connectors that you added in your connections. (See Introduction) It would be a shame to call a dowel connection via the Construction Method who apply screws instead...
- Determines the name of the connection that will appear in the different drop-down menus
- Determines the name of the hardware that should be used if the panel thickness is between the parameters HDW_MinDZ and HDW_MaxDZ defined on the connector
- Determines the name of the hardware that should be used if the panel thickness is greater than the HDW_MaxDZ parameter set in the connector
MaterialID('xxxx') can be replaced by the material ID. Especially if the user wants to change the names of the connectors in the future.
If the connector names from the material catalog are not identical to those determined in this list, the UCS will announce a very annoying error message.
